Top schools want Holiday everyday
(Really! Don’t be scared of the candy thermometer.) Think candied nuts. Simultaneously sweet and savory, nuts are a particularly good choice for friends without a big sweet tooth. Think homemade jams, pickles and chutneys. Spreads and relishes like these are gifts that keep on giving. Think tea mixes and cocoa kits. A mug of something warm is so comforting, doubly so when it’s a special blend from a friend. Seriously, who wouldn’t love to find a specially made treat tucked in their mailbox or in the toe of their stocking?

Go on holiday. Make babies!
The commercial goes on to claim that Danes have 46 percent more sex while on holiday, resulting in 10 percent of the population being conceived then. “We are prescribing a romantic city holiday to save Denmark’s future,” the group said in the tongue-in-cheek commercial. “After all, it will also help our future business,” it added. In 2012 Denmark’s birth rate was down 17 percent since the turn of the millenium to 10.4 births per 1,000 residents, making it the lowest in the Nordic region, according to official figures To shore it up, the company offered an “ovulation discount” to women who entered the start-date of their latest menstruation period when booking, allowing the company to calculate the best time for them to travel. Those submitting pictures of a positive pregnancy test and a pregnancy journal after their holiday also had the chance to win gifts including a three-year supply of nappies and a family holiday. Elderly people and gay couples were also invited to participate since “it’s not just about winning, all the fun is in the participation.” On Thursday, the video clip had received 350 000 views on YouTube in less than a day.

According to the FEC reports filed last year by Reids campaign committee, Friends for Harry Reid, the campaign paid Ryan Elisabeth $5416.93 on October 7 and $11,370 on October 23. Both payments are listed as holiday gifts on the FEC report. According to Ralston, Reids office eventually confirmed to him that Ryan Elisabeths full name is Ryan Elisabeth Reid, and that she is the Senators granddaughter and a jewelry maker. Reids office was not originally forthcoming about this information, however, and only confirmed that Ryan Elisabeth was a relative after repeated prodding and speculation from Nevada journalists. The gifts, Ralston reports, were passed on to donors and supporters. Ryan Elisabeth Reids LinkedIn page lists her as currently employed by the Sprat Theatre Company, where, according to their website, she is the artistic director. Her page in the Brooklyn Arts Council registry of artists also notes that she has a jewelry company called Ryan Elisabeth. The FEC is requesting an explanation of the purpose of those expenditures from Friends for Harry Reid.

So then I would do that, come back the next week, and hed tell me something else to work on. Now, Holiday is sponsored by Shaker harmonica microphones, and has a case filled with about 10 harp beauties that he kept close by during this interview. At the prompting of Wheeler, Holiday founded the Utah Blues Society six months ago with the help of KRCLs Brian Kelmhost of the Red, White & Blues program on Monday nightswho was recently appointed as the societys president. Dedicated to the celebration of the blues as well as spreading awareness of the genre, the Utah Blues Society hosts weekly blues shows at various venues and even flies in national blues artists to perform and hold workshops in their specialty instruments. So far, some of the featured artists have been Blues Hall of Famer Lazy Lesterwho did a workshop on harmonicaas well as Mississippi harmonica player Adam Gussow and legendary Texas guitarist/vocalist Guitar Shorty. In addition to bringing musicians to Utah, the Utah Blues Society supports local blues players. We raised money to send a Utah blues band to Memphis to compete in the nationals, Holiday says. With the enthusiastic response the Utah Blues Society has received, it looks to have a bright future.

Holiday Inn digs in on east end
The restaurant and banquet hall are planned to be built alongside the Holiday Inn Express. “They’re a couple months away,” Herron said about the restaurant and banquet facility. The stand-alone restaurant is a joint venture by Herron and an Akron restaurant partnership called Indulge. The banquet hall will be above the restaurant and seat at least 300. Each will have 5,000 square feet of room. Upwards of 30 jobs are expected, Herron said.

Louis, and now the idea is making its way to the White House. Budweiser and Cardinal legend Ozzie Smith filed a petition on the proposal with the White House in late Feb. It has since gotten the necessary 100,000 signatures needed to gain White House consideration. Videos promoting the campaign were released periodically throughout the past month as Budweiser tried to drive signatures to the White House website. Opening Day should be a holiday, lets make it official, the Hall of Fame shortstop said in a video posted to Budweisers website .

Travel warning issued for Mali
(USATSI) | Latest news & notes Brooklyn Nets big man Kevin Garnett has been dealing with back spasms for 11 straight games now as the team manages to survive this stretch of the season without him. And while he told reporters this week he’s feeling better and the condition is improving, his hope to return “soon” won’t happen during this three-game road trip for the Nets. ESPN New York tells us Garnett will not travel with the team, meaning he’ll miss at least three more games before he can return to the lineup. The Nets blew out the Celtics 114-98 Friday night to push their record to 9-2 without Garnett during this stretch. Brooklyn Nets center Kevin Garnett will not travel with the team on the road and miss at least the next three games, coach Jason Kidd said Friday. Garnett was to be re-evaluated on Saturday. This current three-game road trip for the Nets will have them in Dallas on Sunday, in New Orleans on Monday, and in Charlotte on Wednesday. The earliest he can come back to the Nets’ lineup is Friday March 28 when the Nets host the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Private Space Travel Is Worth the Risk, If Done Right, Experts Say

But the panelists said they didn’t see the risks as insurmountable. Ultimately, a bad safety record would hurt companies. “There’s a perception that commercial space is less safe,” Gold said. But “if we have a bad day, we lose everything.” But beyond having a good safety record, it’s important to understand the risks, Austin said. “It doesnt matter how safe [a spaceship] has been, it matters what one you’re sitting on.” Tyson said for him, it’s about the reward.

citizens via Security or Emergency Messages for U.S. Citizens posted on the Embassy’s website . The U.S. Embassy has instructed Embassy employees and their family members to be cautious when traveling within Bamako and to authorized locations outside of Bamako, generally in the southern parts of the country. It encourages U.S. citizens to exercise caution, remain vigilant, maintain situational awareness at all times, and take appropriate security precautions to ensure personal safety. U.S. citizens throughout Mali should develop personal contingency plans and travel on main roads. Malian security forces are regularly updating security safeguards, including checkpoints and other controls on movement in Bamako and around the country. A United Nations peacekeeping mission has also been deployed in Mali and is programmed to have more than 12,000 personnel in Mali when fully operational. The Government of Mali may periodically impose or lift curfews or impose other restrictions, such as a ban on public demonstrations, as security needs dictate, although it has not done so since the 2013 presidential elections. U.S. citizens should stay attuned to local news announcing such potential measures, and comply when they are in effect. For internal safety and security reasons, the U.S.

and they alone know the best way to travel. It may be a genetic defect we members of homo touristicus share — the “We’re the best gene!” The travel world championship is set to begin April 11th in Vancouver, British Columbia and will conclude 23 days later in Chicago with the crowning of the 2014 edition of The World’s Greatest Travelers. Fourteen teams of two will attempt use their Travel IQ to outsmart, outperform and out travel all the other teams in the 10th edition of The Global Scavenger Hunt, an around the world travel adventure competition. It is A Blind Date With the World because the travelers will not known which 10 countries they will be visiting over the three-plus weeks of the competition. And what better way to test a traveler’s travel savvy than throw him willy-nilly into a country and ask them to figure it out. Clearly, there are a lot of travel skills that one can acquire over time with the right experiences: Doing things on the cheap, overcoming language barriers, managing cultural nuances, situational awareness, confidently dealing with ever-changing logistics, diplomatically tackling the dysfunctional personalities of travel mates and tempering the elation, quickly followed by fatigue, of being on the road for an extended period in a constant state of unknown. I am always asked: Is it possible to test someone’s Travel IQ in a competition against other great travelers? Yes it is…
